LINEPAK
LINEPAK is a suite of algorithms designed to give the user the capability of calculating radiance and transmission spectra for
multiple gases and multiple ray paths for a variety of user specified observational geometry, line shape functions, band models, variable atmospheric layering and spectral resolution.

LINEPAK is an extremely versatile software tool for quickly creating accurate spectra for a variety of applications ranging from single cells to complex atmospheric/planetary viewing geometry. The LINEPAK library has been used for over a decade in HALOE operational data processing and will be used in data processing for the upcoming SOFIE mission. In addition, it has been used to simulate high resolution spectra as observed from orbiting spacecraft,
aircraft and ground based measurements.

Integration of LINEPAK into the researcher's software is straight forward, yet at the same time providing a formidable and flexible building block for transmission and radiance model development.

A complete overview of LINEPAK is available in "LINEPAK: Algorithm for Modeling Spectral Transmittance and Radiance", J. Quant. Spectrosc. Radiat. Transfer Vol. 52, No. 5, pp.563-580, 1994.
